India, like the rest of the world, is grappling with pressing environmental challenges. While our country faces severe air and water pollution, rising temperatures and deforestation, there are several communities experiencing its direct impact firsthand. It is becoming increasingly important for them to receive environmental education. Not only does this create a better understanding of the issue at hand, but helps people understand what causes it, how to go on about mitigating damage, how to protect themselves from the environment around them, and furthermore, helps them be actively engaged in working towards a cause that deeply affects them.
Doing physical labor, engaging in farming and agriculture, or facing homelessness - all these struggles make one vulnerable to the effects of global warming and climate change. For the underserved, extreme weather conditions or severe pollution levels can be fatal. Thus, there is a big need for access to environmental education. People who have limited exposure to conservation awareness and sustainable practices can highly benefit from receiving knowledge which can help the cause. As India strives for sustainability, it is essential to engage all sections of society. The Conservation Conversation was founded to bridge this gap, making environmental education accessible and empowering communities to become active participants in protecting their future.
